Long live the Palestinian Resistance!

Statement by Nkosi ZMD Mandela 8 October 2024 Mvezo Komkhulu (The Great Place), Monday 7th October 2024: Today, we commemorate one year of heroic resistance in a long continuum of the Palestinian people's inevitable march to freedom. For 365 days the people of Palestine have resisted with everything at their disposal. They have fearlessly stood up to protect their land, defend themselves and their families and the Zionist occupation entity has failed to crush the resistance. The myth of the invincibility of the Zionist entity and its brutal military has been forever dispelled. Apartheid Israel is the Goliath of the Middle East and it stands challenged and no matter how many billions in aid it receives from the forces of Western Imperialism, it will always remain an illegitimate occupying force and the end of its occupation is inevitable. Palestinian women have served a vital role in the resistance, from fighting the British mandate to Israel’s colonialism, occupation and apartheid. (Representative Photo) ------ We pay tribute to the families of Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon who have paid the ultimate price and salute the martyrs who demonstrated their unflinching faith and willingness to sacrifice their lives for the liberation of Al Aqsa and all of Occupied Palestine. We salute the millions across the globe who have come out in protest and over the past year since the events of 7th October 2023 have joined in unprecedented acts of international solidarity that have filled the streets of every major city of the world. Your actions have tilted the balance of public opinion and exposed the unjust occupation for what it is. The past year has also witnessed the mass exposure of the lies pandered to the public by the Zionist propaganda machine and their friends in mainstream media regarding the events of October 7th. On the contrary the indiscriminate bombings, the heinous rape in Apartheid Israel detention centres, the mass killing of innocent babies and infant children along with their entire families and the obliteration of churches, mosques, hospitals, schools and other civilian infrastructure has all been perpetrated by the Zionist entity and its brutal Israeli Offence Force(IOF). We support the people of Palestine in their struggle against Apartheid, colonial occupation, and genocide. We reiterate that the struggle of the people of Palestine didn’t start on the 7th October 2023 and neither did the occupation and genocide. We will continue to support the legitimate struggle of the Palestinian people just as we support the struggles of the oppressed and suffering peoples wherever they may be. We reiterate that the root cause of the resistance is the occupation and nearly eight decades of genocide, massacres and ethnic cleansing. The Zionist entity will soon learn the hard lessons from Africa, Latin America and the Middle East that no matter how long the occupation lingers and no matter how heinous the crimes of occupation, an unjust occupation, genocide, crimes against humanity and ethnic cleansing will never last and justice, freedom and peace will always prevail. We are constantly bombarded by mainstream media and Zionist propogandists with demands to denounce the Palestinian struggle, its many formations, and those who support it. They forget that President Nelson Mandela was likewise asked to denounce Muammar Qaddafi, Fidel Castro and Yasser Arafat. I repeat his response to Ted Koppel in an interview during his visit to the United States of America: "One of the mistakes which some political analysts make is to think their enemies should be our enemies. Our attitude towards any country is determined by the attitude of that country to our struggle. Yasser Arafat, Colonel Gaddafi [and] Fidel Castro support our struggle to the hilt. There is no reason whatsoever why we should have any hesitation about hailing their commitment to human rights as they’re being demanded in South Africa. They do not support [the anti-apartheid struggle] only in rhetoric; they are placing resources at our disposal for us to win the struggle. That is the position.” Those who are complicit in the genocide in Gaza, all of Occupied Palestine and Lebanon through supplying funding, arms, military personnel, logistics and moral support are responsible for the resistance of 7th October 2024 and the the war crimes, ethnic cleansing and genocide that followed in its wake. As the world stands on the brink of the largest escalation of war in the Middle East, we call for a ceasefire and implementation of the rulings of the International Court of Justice. The occupation must end. The genocide must end. The orchestrated displacement of millions of Palestinians and Lebanese must end.
