An Epidemic Of Growing Suicide Attacks on Muslims by Muslims: Preventable Or Not?

By Ghulam Ghaus Siddiqi, New Age Islam 7 January 2023 Objective Studies of the Root Causes and Genuine Endeavour Are Required To Prevent Suicide Attack Main Points 1. Suicide attacks have spread horror and anxiety over the entire world. 2. The reason why humans are killing one another is in question. 3. Both the murderers and the deceased are Muslims. The Muslims they are attacking are all Muslims and all recite the Kalima of Islam. 4. Human life is the greatest blessing of Allah and insulting it by killing oneself can be termed an act of ungratefulness or a lack of faith in the blessing. 5. The question still arises as to who provides suicide attackers with guns, equipment, and bomb-making instruction. Where does their funding originate? 6. Do the same nations that say they will combat the terrorists also contribute to the resources? ------ Today, suicide attacks have spread horror and anxiety over the entire world. Due to its rising tendency, hundreds of lives are lost every day. Not only are innocent individuals killed in the incident; suicide attackers are as well. After all, why do people not think twice about killing themselves in order to take the lives of others? Which ones are they? Or what are the reasons that a sizable portion of the younger generation is training for suicide bombings? In Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Syria, suicide bombings have become a common plague. A survey of international news reveals that a country experiences a suicide attack every day that claims hundreds of lives. The reason why humans are killing one another is in question. What is happening in Iraq? Sometimes Shia Muslims are targeted while other times it is Sunni Muslims, and thus Shia and Sunni Muslims die at different times. In a similar vein, the majority of those killed in the current wave of suicide attacks in Afghanistan were unarmed civilians. In both Iraq and Afghanistan, half of the population is currently disabled, widowed, or orphaned. Both the murderers and the deceased are Muslims. There are those who assert that non-Muslims are in danger due to Muslims or that the religions of non-Muslims are in peril due to Muslims! This is a shocking claim considering that the Muslims they are attacking are all Muslims and all recite the Kalima of Islam. Thus, both are brothers according to Islam. So the question is: Will it be referred to be a brother versus brother fights? The fact that they are provoked on several levels, in my opinion, plays a significant role, though it is not the only obvious explanation. The political, social, and national problems as well as foreign influence all play a significant role in this instability. Just think about how most people see only one side of a story, like how the deceased are remembered as loved ones or how many homes have been destroyed. It's important to note, too, that even people who die by suicide are remembered by their family members, that their homes also have been shattered, and that their parents are also grieving the loss of their children. It is unknown if parents have ever assisted in training their children for suicide attacks. As far as I'm aware, there isn't a current example. This indicates that there are some groups and organisations that not only train them but also successfully persuade them to do anything. In such a situation, it may be a twofold issue as to whether such individuals are trained from an early age or if they are made ready for this after being kidnapped as youngsters. But keep in mind that the greatest blessing a man can have in this world is his own life, therefore no one can accomplish this work under compulsion unless they are sincerely motivated to do so. It is also important to consider the fact that human life is the greatest blessing of Allah and that insulting it by killing oneself can be termed an act of ungratefulness or a lack of faith in the blessing. It is said that these suicide bombers are young Muslims who have been taught that the only way to attain martyrdom is by sacrificing one's life for the cause of Allah. Regarding religion, it is especially troubling that some people, organisations, or movements promote teenage suicide attempts and assert that doing so is the only way to go to heaven. Are they thinking correctly? Are they really acting in the interests of Islam? Before responding to these inquiries, keep in mind that the arguments made by proponents of suicide attacks are so compelling that the young people endanger their lives by rejecting all of life's blessings. Both the ideologues as well as their followers have a good probability of becoming successful in this. What if these abilities may be used for the benefit of the country and the community? If those young people who are eager to carry out suicide attacks had been taught a different lesson that motivated them to work for improvement and reform in their respective countries, perhaps they would have surpassed all others. However, nothing has been thought of in this regard; not even the most powerful nations on the international stage have given this issue due consideration. The problem with the nations that experience suicide attacks is that they frequently waste their money on pointless pursuits when they could accomplish much more beneficial outcomes by spending it on jobs, education, and training. Since the majority of the population in these nations is Muslim, committing suicide entails murdering one's own Muslim brothers. What exactly does it mean to kill one's own citizens and countrymen? There must be a cause for this, and the issue is so bad that there is no way for these countries to escape it. Another crucial factor in this issue is if it is acknowledged that young people engage in this behaviour. However, it is still unclear who provides them with guns, equipment, and bomb-making instruction. Where does their funding originate? Where do these resources come from if not from those people who are doing all the work while remaining hidden from public view? Do the same nations that say they will combat them also contribute to the resources? If all of those countries, including Pakistan, perform internal investigations or objective studies of the root causes and exacerbating factors of these issues and genuinely endeavour to address them, this rapidly spreading suicide attack can be prevented. In conclusion, I'd like to draw your attention to the fact that suicide has been the most deadly tool used by jihadists. This jihadist weapon is produced by fabrication. They disregard the verses of the Quran and the Prophet's sayings that explicitly forbid suicide in all circumstances, as exclusively detailed in my article: 1. Suicide Attacks By ISIS or Any Other Muslim Militants Are Brazenly Un-Islamic and Categorically Forbidden [Haram] Under All Circumstances: Evidence from the Quran and Hadith 2. The Jihadists' Suicide Attacks or Martyrdom Operations Strictly Forbidden in Islam ----- A regular Columnist with NewAgeIslam.com, Ghulam Ghaus Siddiqi Dehlvi is a Classical Islamic scholar with a Sufi background and English-Arabic-Urdu Translator.
