اسلام کی 14 سو سالہ تاریخ  گواہ ہے کہ اسلام کے خلاف ہر دور میں زور آزمائی کی گئی ہے اور اس آفاقی مذہب کو مٹانے کے قدیم منصوبے کو مختلف رنگ و روپ دیئے گئے ۔ موجودہ اکیسویں صدی  میں اسی تحریک  کو مزید مضبوط  کیا گیا اور اسلام کو قدامت پسند اور دہشت گرد جیسے اجنبی الفاظ سے یاد کیا جانے لگا۔حالانکہ حقیقت ا س کے خلاف ہے۔ اسلام کی آمد ہی دہشت گردی ، قتل وغارت گری اور کشت و خون کو ختم کرنے کے لئے ہوئی ہے۔ اسلام کا اولین  مقصد امن و امان کا قیام ہے۔ درج ذیل سطور میں امن و امان  سے متعلق  اسلام کے نقطۂ نظر کو واضح کرنے کی کوششکی گئی ہے۔

Interfaith Dialogue: An Existential Necessity for the Very Survival of the Human Species

Jesuit and sociologist Rudolph Heredia’s article neatly summarises the case for interfaith dialogue. Going beyond the all-too-common tendency to see interfaith dialogue as a means to enable others to understand and appreciate one’s own faith better (or even to convert to it), Heredia stresses that dialogue is—or, rather, should be—a valuable means for each dialogue partner to be spiritually enriched and to grow through encountering and learning and benefitting from other religious traditions and their adherents. Seen in this way, interfaith dialogue becomes a “mutually enriching encounter”. For us to be able to be truly transformed by this encounter, Heredia tells us, romanticizing our own religious traditions (and also refusing to recognize that they might, in part, need to be rethought or revised—a possibility that the dialogical encounter might provoke) is indefensible. Heredia also adds that for dialogue to be more than people talking past each other there must also be a realization that God or the Ultimate Reality is a mystery that is far beyond human comprehension and that, therefore, no single religion or other such worldview can contain or represent Him/Her/It in His/Her/Its totality.

Islam has been hijacked and turned into a joke by these marauders and terrorists called the ISIS and Al Qaida. Last month, on 30 July, Abu Bakr Baghdadi, a person of dubious background announced the establishment of Islamic State in Mosul and unleashed a reign of terror among Christians and Muslims alike, razing many religious structures of Shias and Sunnis and then issuing the order mandating FGM of millions of girls in the captured territory. Since the time Baghdadi parted ways with his Alma mater Al Qaida and rose to fame, Al Qaida was looking for an opportunity to assert its existence and strength. And as it cannot overpower ISIS in Iraq or Syria, it shifted its focus and strategy from Iraq to Libya where there was some scope of reclaiming the lost ‘glory’ as the land is at the moment without any authority or rule of law. So, an Al Qaida offshoot Ansar al Shariah conquered Benghazi in Libya and announced that an Islamic Emirate had been established there. But why an Emirate and not a Caliphate?

The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) is made up of forces variously estimated at between 3,000 and 10,000 fighters. It has taken over much of eastern Syria and northern and western Iraq, as well as the Trabil crossing on the Jordan–Iraq border. Its territory now extends to within 76 miles (122 kilometres) of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.
