Muslims must not risk the goodwill they have built by linking Karkare's death with Hindutva terror

The response from non–Muslims has been equally uplifting. There has been no broad–brush maligning of the Muslim community as terrorist or 'Pakistani'. No anti–Muslim riots have broken out. People have spoken as one, condemning the Mumbai attack and vowing they won't allow it to divide "us". The national atmosphere has been a fry cry from the putridity of the 1990s, in the wake of Babri Masjid's demolition, or the viciousness of Gujarat in 2002.
