Nigeria: 'Muslim Preach, Give Evidence, Don't Kill A Soul'

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim wassalatu wassalamu ala Asharaful Mursalina Sayyidana Muhammad wa'ala alihi amma ba'ad.
Allah (swt) has described Islam in the Holy Qur'an using many fine adjectives, 'sifa kasiran'. And says: 'Indeed the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam... ' Surat Ali Imran (19).
Islam, even from the name, is peace. If somebody says 'Assalamu alaikum' it means 'peace on to you'. That means we should not do anything bad against any human being; not only a Muslim but any human being.
The religion also forbids Muslims from even uttering something bad about somebody. And even if someone does something bad to a Muslim or turns aggressive against him, Islam advises the Muslim to say 'Allahumma agfirli, Allahumma agfirli. It also advices Muslims that during the Ramadan if someone seeks to antagonise you, you don't respond in like manner, but exercise patience and say 'Allahumma Inni Sa'im', Allahumma Inni Sa'im' - 'I am fasting, I am in Ibadah I should not do anything to spoil my ibadah."
Therefore, Islam demands of believers that they exercise justice toward people even where they have reason to be angry with them. The Qur'an [5:8] says: "And do not let the hatred of a people prevent you from being just. Be just; that is nearer to righteousness."
False Jihad Claims
This Islamic stance underscores why those groups who say that they want to do jihad, to implement Shariah, by subjecting people to various forms of inhuman treatment and claiming that what they are doing is part of Islam, are not telling the truth about Islam whatsoever. Their actions and utterances have nothing to do with Islam, because how can someone who claims he is working for Islam at the same time be targeting and killing Muslims. They join Muslims who go to pray, to worship Allah (swt) in the mosques, they pretend that they too are praying and then bomb the Muslims.
On Female Suicide Bombers
They are so irreligious that they even use children to carry out their terrible acts against Islam; giving Islam a bad name globally. They train and send young girls who know nothing to mosques and schools and they claim that they are killing people who are not following Islam. How comes! Those who do not follow Islam will not go to the mosque to pray, they will not read the Qur'an. So if they want to fight they should fight those who are fighting them. But in Islam they have no right to fight even Christians.
So the issue of their jihad is just to kill Muslims; that is not Islam.
Muslims should follow the biography and the steps of the Prophet (saw). We will find in the hadith that even those kuffar, when the Prophet was in Makkah, some of the unbelievers or Jews used to place encumbrances on his path to stop him from going to the Ka'aba to prayer but what did he do to them in return? He always prayed for them - even those who hurled stones at him - he always prayed to Allah (swt) thus: "Allah guide my people for they do not know the good thing that I come to call them to," which is Islam.
The Prophet counseled doing good even to those who harm you: "Do not be people without minds of your own, saying that if others treat you well you will treat them well, and that if they do wrong you will do wrong to them. Instead, accustom yourselves to do good if people do good and not to do wrong (even) if they do evil." (Al-Tirmidhi).
Preach, Give Evidence, 'Don't Kill Any Life'
The Qur'an tells Muslims: "Don't kill the life of anything Allah creates". Allah does not allow Muslims to take any life; not even that of he who does not believe. If you want to invite the non-believer to Islam, 'preach your religion with a good manner, with good style, with a good talk. But don't kill them or force them.
The Qur'an says: "There is no compulsion in religion. The right way has become distinct from error." (2:256). It tells us to preach to the unbelievers, to give them evidence that Islam is good and reflect that in practice like the Prophet (saw) demonstrated among the unbelievers until they themselves were convinced that Islam is good and they followed him.
So, training the Muslim young boys and girls to kill is a very criminal act because Allah will not seek responsibility for the act from the child as he has not attained maturity. The child will lose his life and the adult who roped them to carry out the evil act will face the wrath of Allah.
It is reported that one of the Sahaba, Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, the first Caliph, gave instructions to his armies thus: "I instruct you in ten matters: Do not kill women, children, the old, or the infirm; do not cut down fruit-bearing trees; do not destroy any town . . . " (Malik's Muwatta', Kitab al-Jihad).
So all those who are accusing Islam and Muslims that the religion is not good, that it is the religion of criminality of aggression, that it is barbaric, all these people are talking without basis. Because they should really study something before they criticise it. If they read the Quran and Hadith - and these are available now - the Quran is translated into more than 25 languages - so nobody has basis that he does not know Islam. They can go and read about Islam and after that they can criticse it. How can somebody say something is good or it is bad without any knowledge about it. Read it first and then after that you can criticise it, you have the right to say your own opinion and defend it.
So those people who are talking without knowing anything, this is not acceptable. By doing that they themselves are part of the criminality because they are encouraging people to fight and kill others which is not allowed by Islam.
Even during the first and second generations of Islam, the Muslims went to preach first to the people and where the leaders of those communities refused to allow them, they would ask them, through the authority to give Jizya, so that they come under the protection of the Islamic leaders and continue their religious worship with rights same as the Muslims.
The prophet was living in Madina and the Jews and the unbeliever were living with him. He even signed a peace agreement with the non-Muslims. When we make our country peaceful, everybody can perform his religion.
The Prophet (saw) never force anybody to embrace Islam. The history is clear. The Jews were exercising their Judaism and they continued till the death of the Prophet (saw) and up to today. So who will now come to say he understands Islam (the Qur'an and Hadith) better than the Prophet (saw); this is unacceptable, preposterous.
Seek For Knowledge, Abide By Qur'an
As Muslims we must make effort to acquire knowledge and be obedient to the Quran. We must try to know our Quran, tafsir, fiqh and hadith which is the practical implementation of the Islam. Nobody can say he can implement the Quran and hadith better than the prophet. Even on ablution the Prophet told the Muslims to "do the ablution as you see me perform it."
The prophet is not among us today but all what he had done, wordings, tafsir, practical acts they have been recorded by the Sahaba. They are in the authentic books; we should read them and abide by them.
The Hebdos
Those Sufhah (people who have no respect for themselves), how will they respect others. They are those who are criminal but when you call them criminals they will be angry; they drink but if you call them drunkards they will be angry; they commit adultery but if you call them adulterers they will be angry. This is because by nature they know that what they are doing is wrong. So we should not follow their ways.
Those who abuse Allah, who abuse the Prophet we should not follow their way. They don't know what they do. We say 'La hawla walaku wata illa billah. They cannot do anything insha Allah. Remember the story of the Ahlul fil who came to destroy the Ka'abah? They were a mighty military force comparable to the prevailing situation of the Muslims. But Allah protected his religion.
Allah will defend his religion. But we must not constitute a problem for ourselves by allowing ourselves to be used to destroy our societies, our countries which are endowed by Allah. Look at what is happening today in Yemen, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Egypt, Somalia all of them are Muslim countries blessed with the petrol, gas, gold everything, but we are fighting and killing our Muslim brothers, with over 20 million people now refugees.
Of course the detractors of Islam are creating a conducive atmosphere for the people to fight; to bomb places, our mosques, our sacred sites and divert us away from giving our children education, religious and technological for development.
But we come back to Almighty Allah. We pray Allah (swt) to solve our problems.
